The British Nationals, traditionally the culmination of the UK bodyboard contest calendar, are this year being sponsored by Bodyboard HQ, the UK’s longest running and largest bodyboard shop, based in Portreath, Cornwall.

Owner of Bodyboard HQ Dave Heard said: “We’re proud to get behind what has become the most popular bodyboarding event in the UK, and we look to get involved in a lot more events in the future.”

The Nationals are provisionally scheduled for 8-9 October and will be the biggest event on the Auto-Sleepers British Bodyboard Club’s 5-event tour; potentially deciding the winner of the Tour’s Open, Drop Knee and Women’s sections.

With generous cash prizes across all 8 divisions, the weekend will be set to pull in competitors from the length and breadth of the British Isles.

Dave continued; “with the now established venue of Porthtowan being just around the corner from us in Portreath, it’s a great fit. We have always, and continue to, support local bodyboarders, top riders such as Eldred Hawke, Tim Brown, Alex Winkworth, Steven Hall and 5 X British champion Danny Catten. We are hoping that our team can make a big impact on the event once again”.

The Nationals will crown the bodyboarding champions in the age divisions (U14, U16, U18, Seniors and Masters) and the Tour the Champions in the Open, Drop Knee and Women’s sections.
